The Murder

What is kept

What this app holds about you, how long it holds it, and what closing your account takes with it.

The short version

No advertising, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing is sold or handed on. Anything that is kept is kept to make the app work, to keep a record of a moderation decision, or because somebody has to be able to get back in.

You can take a copy of everything that is yours at any time, from your account page, and you can close the account from the same place. Closing it is not reversible and there is no grace window.

How long things are kept

Loading the list…

“The app” means a sweep inside the app deletes it on a clock. “The box” means the server the app runs on does, which covers things like web server logs that never reach the database. “You” means there is no clock on it at all: it stays until you replace it or remove it, and the app will not decide that for you.

Closing your account

It takes your profile, your handle, your library, your packs and your posts. Your crows and the campaigns you own do not vanish from other people’s tables: a crow stays where it is with your name taken off it, because the people you played with did not close anything.

One thing outlives it. If a ban has been set on the account, the record that it happened is kept for twelve months from when it ends. It holds a scrambled version of the address, what the ban covered, when it ends and a reference number. It holds no name. That is the only thing on this page that closing your account does not take.

A page you put on somebody’s pack stays on that pack, with nothing left to say it was yours, so the pack’s count and its place in the market do not change when you leave.

Asking about any of this

Email tom@tompickering.gg, or ask in the Discord. Both are read within a few days.

This page is generated from the same list the app deletes things by, so it says what actually happens rather than what was intended when somebody last wrote a policy.
